A holding tank is a watertight tank which can either be made out of pre-casted concrete or poly materials. There is no drainfield, field lines, or municipality sanitary sewer lines connected to the tank. A 1,000 gallon tank will be full and begin to overflow back inside of the home or dwelling when 1,000 gallons of sewage is put into it.
